Good morning! Weather is getting more cooler again which is nice. I have about a month and a half left until I go back to college. Its a different college from the last one I went to so its like being the new girl all over again. I've already registered in my courses so all I need to do is pay the tuition fee and get my books. Anyways, let's see what I have for the Oh Mon Dieu! It’s the Rather Awesome 31 Day Challenge today.
For day 11, the theme is stripes. I got some stripping tape off ebay a while back but haven't gotten a chance to test them out. What better way to do so than to make some stripes. Let's see how I did.
I started with Sally Hansen White On as my base color. To speed up the drying time, I applied a coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. Then I took some striping tape to make some horizontal stripes on my nails. Taking Essie Mojito Madness, I applied that on top. While it was still wet, I quickly peeled off the striping tape to reveal stripes on my nails. Lastly, I applied my Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
This was actually pretty hard to do. It took me a while to place the striping tape exacting how I wanted it on the nails but the result was perfect stripes. I love how these turned out even though it was a bit time consuming and the color applied a bit patchy. What do you think of my stripe manicure?

Perfect! Love these two colors together so much! Heck, I love this whole look!
ReplyDeleteThanks Essie! I really like them together too :)
DeleteI love how this turned out!! Hoe come you're changing schools? Just wondering :))
ReplyDeleteThank you Gosia! :) Well, I finished my business program and graduated with a diploma from my previous school. I'm unsure on what I want to do so I'm going back to college and doing another program that this school offers that my previous one doesn't.
DeleteGreat colors! :) You did a nice job with the tape. :) Good luck with school!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I have to practice with them more :)
DeleteI think it looks great!! How is that white Sally Hansen polish? I'm looking for a good white.
ReplyDeleteThank you! :) I like it. Its pretty good for a drugstore brand. I used it so much that its almost finished, lol!
DeleteWhat immaculate stripes! Just perfect. So tell me...is your room EVER messy? :D
ReplyDeleteThank you Melissa! I'm a total neat freak so if my room was a bit messy, I always clean up. Why do you ask? haha!
DeleteI love striping manicures! And this one is no exception! The colors look great together! I find it easier to handle the striping tape using a pair of tweezers instead of using my fingers. Have you tried that?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the advice! Yeah, I was using my fingers so it was a struggle. I'll try tweezers then to see if that works better for me. Thanks! :)
DeleteThis is such an awesome mani! Great job using striping tape for the first time! It gets easier with practice! :) I'm happy the weather got a little cooler where I live, too! Though, I just moved from FL, so ANYWHERE is cooler, hahaha!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather! I agree, practice makes perfect :) Glad to hear its cool where you live too. I hate the heat so I'm always happy when its cooler, lol.
DeleteGreat job, I get so frustrated with striping tape!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yeah, me too but they make some awesome designs though :)
DeleteCute! Striping tape always takes patience but it's usually worth it!
ReplyDeleteThank you Amber! I totally agree too :)
Deletesimple and clean...lovely :)
