Oh Mon Dieu! 31 Day Challenge Day 14 - Flowers

Happy 100th post! I have an early morning shift today even though I worked till midnight last night. I didn't get much sleep but at least I get off work earlier than normal. I'll have to head out soon so let's see what I have for today's Oh Mon Dieu! It’s the Rather Awesome 31 Day Challenge.

For day 14, the theme is flowers. I decided to do a Marimekko inspired manicure by the lovely elleandish. She did a Marimekko Inspired Flower Nail Tutorial. Let's see how mine turned out.

First, I used Nicole by OPI Selena on my pinky and ring finger. Taking black acrylic paint, I used a dotting tool to dot on two dots. For my ring finger, I applied Nicole by OPI The Next CEO and then Nicole by OPI A Gold Winter's Night.

For my middle and thumb nail, I started with Sally Hansen White On. Then taking Nicole by OPI Selena and Barielle Welcome Ohm, I used my dotting tool to create the Marimekko flowers. With Nicole by OPI Hit The Lights, I dotted the center of each flower. Then taking black acrylic paint, I dotted the center of that and added some stems with a stripper nail art brush. Finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

This turned out awesome! My flowers aren't the prettiest especially the weird looking stems I created but I still really like this design a lot. I also used acrylic paint for the first time and it was a great experience. I like that it gives me some time to work with it without getting tacky like nail polish does. I bought a set of them so except to see me use them every once in a while. What do you think of my floral manicure?
