Hello everyone! I'm relaxing today which is a nice change from working all the time last week. I'm still organizing and swatching my collection too. Just ran out of swatch sticks so I'll have to order more. I know now that I have over 300 nail polishes in my collection at least. Let's see what I did for the Oh Mon Dieu! It’s the Rather Awesome 31 Day Challenge today.
For day 9, the theme is textured. I don't own any texture polishes so I had to improvise. I decided to do a textured sugar spun nail design inspired by The Nailasaurus. She did a Textured Sugar Spun Nail Art.
For my base color, I used Sally Hansen I Pink I Can. Then dropping a couple of drops on Sally Hansen Yellow Kitty on a piece of tin foil, I waited for a few minutes. With a toothpick, I started stirring the polish till it gets tacky and stringy. Then I applied the polish in a sugar spun way on my nails. To lessen the clean up, I taped around my nails.
I didn't apply any top coat since I wanted the texture finish to really show on my nails. Sadly, I didn't wait long enough for the polish to get super tacky so my design turned out a little too messy for my liking. For my first try though, I think I did pretty good. What do you think of my textured manicure?
