The Nail Challenge Collaborative - Technique Week 2

Friday, September 20, 2013

Hello everyone! I've been slacking on this month's technique theme for The Nail Challenge Collaborative so I wanted to share another manicure today. This one has been a long time coming and its the famous waterfall manicure created by The Nailasaurus. Ever since I first saw it on her blog, I wanted to try the design out but I've never attempted it until now. If you want to learn how to create them, check out her Waterfall Nail Art Tutorial. Let's see how mine turned out.

Nabi, OPI, Essie, Nicole by OPI, Seche Vite, stripper brush

For my base color, I used Nabi Baby Pink. Taking a skinny nail art stripper brush, I used OPI From A to Z-urich, Essie Smokin' Hot, and Nicole by OPI It Starts With Me to create the waterfall design. The key is to make each line a different length to get the best effect on the nails. Lastly, I applied Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

These turned out great for my first try even though I did go a little overboard  with the amount of lines here. I tried to choose fall colors while still keeping the manicure on the brighter side for this look and I think I achieved that. I love how the colors look together here. What do you think of my first waterfall manicure?
