Happy New Years Eve! I hope everyone had a great year in 2013 and I wish everyone all the best for the new year in 2014. I wanted to share my last nail art manicure I did a while back before the year was over on the blog today though. The sugar skulls are inspired by cutepolish from her Sugar Skull Day of the Dead Nails. The marimekko flowers are inspired by elleandish from her Marimekko Inspired Flower Nails.
For my ring and middle finger, I have on Sally Hansen White On. I have on Sally Hansen Lavender Cloud on the rest of the nails. For the colors I used to create both the sugar skulls and marimekko flowers, I used OPI From A to Z-urich, OPI Jade is the New Black, and OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui. I also used Born Pretty Store Sweet Color Nail Art Liner in black and white. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off your order. Finished with Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
I was kind of in a hurry when I did this nail art so I did smudge the design when I applied top coat. I really like how the sugar skulls turned out though. What do you think of this manicure? See you in 2014!!

Hello everyone! This is my last manicure for this month's inspired by art theme for The Nail Challenge Collaborative. I'm so happy that I was able to finish this challenge even though I was very late in starting it. This design was inspired by a colorful floral artwork that kind of reminds me of something I would see from those Sally Hansen nail wraps.
For my base color, I used Barielle Swizzle Stix. For the flowers, I used a combination of American Apparel Poppy, American Apparel Hassid, Sally Hansen Lavender Cloud, Barielle Welcome Ohm, and Misa Green with Envy. For the flowers shapes, I just used the brush on the polish bottles to create them as well as a toothpick for the smaller details. I finished with a coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
When I look at my nails, I wouldn't have thought it was created with nail polish but something I would get from wearing nail wraps. I love these so much! What do you think of my colorful flower print manicure?

Hey everyone! Here's my third manicure for this month's inspired by art theme for The Nail Challenge Collaborative. This design was inspired by this cool looking tree that is split into four sections to represent each season. I did four nails to represent each season and then for my thumb, I just did an accent nail with all the colors that was used.
Starting with my pinky nail, I have on China Glaze Starboard, Barielle Swizzle Stix, Julep Hayden, Barielle Gotta Have Fate, and Sally Hansen White On. With China Glaze Mahogany Magic, I used a toothpick to draw on the tree and its branches. Then I dotted various sized colored dots using Misa Green with Envy, Orly Ancient Jade, Barielle Welcome Ohm, Essie Mesmerize, Jessica Tangerine Dreamz, OPI Fiercely Fiona, and American Apparel Downtown LA. Finished with Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
I went very simple with recreating the design. The leaves had some texture in them but when I attempted to recreate that, it kind of looked messy so I opted to just do dots instead. What do you think of my four seasons tree manicure?

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a great Christmas yesterday and are having a great Boxing Day today too. I wanted to share my second manicure for this month's inspired by art theme for The Nail Challenge Collaborative. I was inspired by a gorgeous artwork of a park with lush greens and vibrant colors. Also, I wanted to mention that I now have a instagram and twitter account if you want to follow me over there.
I started with Essie Borrowed & Blue on all my nails. For the design, I used American Apparel Raccoon, American Apparel Downtown LA, Sephora by OPI Blue Grotto, Born Pretty Store Sweet Color black nail art liner, China Glaze Starboard, Jessica Tangerine Dreamz, and Nicole by OPI Hit The Lights. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off for Born Pretty Store. For tools, I used some makeup sponges, a dotting tool and a toothpick. For this design, I decided to skip top coat because I wanted the textures to be noticeable just like the artwork I drew inspiration from.
I love how my middle nail turned out even though its just incorporating the colors in the art I was inspired by. I'm a little disappointed with how the trees turned out though since I first tried dotting it then I went to sponging it. In the end, it turned into a bit of a mess. I still love the colors in it though. What do you think of this manicure?

Hey everyone! This manicure was inspired by MissJenFABULOUS from her video, Easy Nail Art For Beginners #5. I recreated her third nail art manicure in that video. I loved how hypnotizing the blue design looked and wanted to try it out myself. I received a Born Pretty Store white nail art stripper to review so I wanted to use it for this design.
For my base color, I used Barielle A Bouquet For Ava. When that's dry, I applied Barielle Swizzle Stix on top, leaving some of the previous color showing though on the sides. I repeated this step with Essie Borrowed & Blue next. After that's all dried, I applied a thin stripe down the center with Born Pretty Store Sweet Color white nail art liner. I finished with a coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
Like the previous Sweet Color nail art liner I reviewed, I enjoyed this as much as the black one. The tip isn't the finest with a few stray hairs but the white was opaque and didn't require me to go over the lines. This Born Pretty Store Sweet Color white nail art liner costs $4.59 for 10ml but its on sale right now for $3.59. Its a great stripper polish for a beginner to check out so I recommend it especially since its on sale right now too.
I loved how this manicure turned out! Doesn't it just look so eye catching but simple at the same time? Be sure to check out Born Pretty Store for nail art items and more! You can use coupon code YCL91 for an additional 10% off your entire order. What do you think of this hypnotizing blue manicure?
*Born Pretty Store Sweet Color nail art liner was provided for review purposes. My opinion is 100% honest.*

Hello everyone! I'm so behind on this month's theme for The Nail Challenge Collaborative so I kicked myself into gear to get them up as soon as possible. This month's theme is inspired by art. This turned out kind of a fail but I still wanted to share with you all how it turned out. I was inspired by an abstract watercolor artwork that I found searching on Google.
I started with Salon Perfect Sugar Cube on the nails. I sponged on different color combinations using China Glaze Escaping Reality, China Glaze Lemon Fizz, Barielle A Bouquet For Ava, Barielle Welcome Ohm, Jessica Tangerine Dreamz, and Color Club Limelight. Taking a dotting tool, I created random lines on each nail. Before that dried, I dabbed the lines with a makeup sponge to create a faded look. Finished with Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
This didn't turn out exactly how I pictured it but I gave it my best try. I do really like how my pinky nail turned out though. What do you think of my abstract watercolor nail art?

Hello everyone! Today's nail art manicure was inspired by the second design MissJenFABULOUS did in her Nail Art For Beginners #2 video a while back. I love how simple but eye catching the design looked and wanted to try it out with a black nail art stripper polish I got from Born Pretty Store recently.
First, I have Nicole by OPI The Next CEO on all my nails except for the ring finger. For the ring finger, I did an accent nail using Nicole by OPI All Is Glam, All Is Bright. Taking my Born Pretty Store Sweet Color black nail art liner, I created two vertical lines down each nail. Then taking my dotting tool, I dotted on two black dots on each black line. After letting that dry, I dotted on another dot within the black dots using Nicole by OPI The Next CEO. Lastly, I applied a coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
The Born Pretty Store Sweet Color black nail liner cost $4.59 for 10ml. The black was opaque that I didn't need to go over the lines I made. The brush is pretty thin but I've noticed that the ends are a little frayed and not completely perfect. Overall, I like the Sweet Color black nail art liner and it would be a great stripper polish for a beginner to check out.
Be sure to browse Born Pretty Store for nail art and more! You can use coupon code YCL91 for an additional 10% off your entire order as well. What do you think of my gold and black manicure?
