Snow Inspired Nail Art

Sunday, December 1, 2013

Happy Sunday! I've been buying a lot this weekend because of all the Black Friday sales happening and there's still Cyber Monday tomorrow too. My wallet is weeping a little. Anyways, I decided to join in on Nail Polish Canada's 2013 Holiday Nail Art Challenge. I didn't know it was happening until I stumbled across it when I was browsing their site. It sounded fun and I really wanted to do some holiday manicures anyways. There's some great prizes to be won too.

This week's theme is snow. I didn't want to do just a typical snow manicure so I went kind of abstract and went with colors that reminded me of snow. Let's see what I came up with then.

Essie, Barielle, Sephora by OPI, Color Club, Different Dimension, Seche Vite

Each nail has a different design so I'll just list the colors I used. The nail polishes are Essie Borrowed & Blue, Barielle Swizzle Stix, Sephora by OPI Blue Grotto, Sephora by OPI Are You Glistenin'?, Color Club Angel Kiss, Different Dimension Blue Christmas, and Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. For my stamping design, I used image plates BM-321 and BM-323 with my Konad stamper and scraper.

I love how these turned out. I had no real idea on what I wanted to create so I did this design on a whim. There was some trial and error but in the end, I think it looks great. What do you think of my snow inspired manicure?

  7. love your more abstract take on snow :) my favorite nails are your index and middle finger nails... how did you do them? i'm guessing your index you maybe did chalkboard nails distressed technique? and your middle finger is maybe a saran wrap mani?
