I thought of naming this look as red and pink water marble but as I looked at it more, it kind of reminded me of blood. Hence, this is my bloody Valentine's Day look. I promise that someday I will do a real water marble manicure but for now, I'm liking how easy a dry water marble is.
I used American Apparel Coney Island as my base color. Quickly, I dabbed blobs on the nail with two reds in American Apparel Poppy and American Apparel Downtown LA. With a toothpick, I swirled them around to create this dry water marble design. I added some black round studs from Born Pretty Store on the base of each nail. Use coupon code YCL91 for an additional 10% off your order. Finished with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat.
I kind of went overboard mixing/swirling the colors here but I still really like how it turned out. What do you think of my bloody Valentine manicure?

I haven't mastered dry marble yet, but these look amazing! I wish mine came out like this lol.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm sure you'll get better the more you practice at it. I'm not the best at it too but I just take my time when I do them :)

Thank you Emi!
DeleteI've never heard of a dry water marble but the result is really cool and beautiful! I also really love the studs you've been adding to your manis lately.
ReplyDeleteThanks Melissa! I wasn't really into studs before but I'm liking them right now for some strange reason, lol.
DeleteIt reminds me of an oil painting, for some reason, It's very eye-catching!

DeleteOh my gall. I absolutely LOVE this! I've never tried a dry water marble! I'll have too try it soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you! You should it Autumn, its very easy and the results are so cool especially if you mix different colors in it :)
DeleteI really like this! And, you can use it again at Halloween, if you want! lol I have failed every marble I've tried - dry or wet! I always use too much pressure on the dry marbles and end up creating gulleys.
ReplyDeleteYour right, its perfect for Halloween too! You can always practice not putting as much pressure on it, I'm sure it didn't turn out that bad.
DeleteVery creative! I suck at water marbling so I need to try this instead :)
ReplyDeleteThanks and yeah give this a try, its very easy :)
