This is my last manicure for untried theme this month for The Nail Challenge Collaborative. I've always wanted to try the fishtail braid design but for some reason I've never attempted one. There's how my first try at it turned out.
First, I applied Orly Sweet Peacock on all the nails. Taking Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, I applied it at a slat and repeated this with Nicole by OPI Stand By Your Manny along with the base color. You should be left with a fishtail braided design. Finished with Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
For my first try at it, I think I did pretty good job at the fishtail braids. The blues really compliment each other. What do you think of my blue fishtail braided manicure?

This is absolutely magical! You did a great job on this! <3
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm very happy with how it turned out too :)
DeleteWow!! Well done! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Elin!
DeleteThis turned out beautiful! I haven't done one yet - too afraid it will be a hot mess! I'm pinning this for sure!
ReplyDeleteThanks Brandy! You should give it a try, I'm sure it will turn out great too :)
DeleteWow! You did a fantastic job. It's very pretty too. I failed at my first attempt...must try it again.
ReplyDeleteThanks and yes, give it another go if you want!
DeleteBeautiful Lisa...I love the different shades of blue!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThis looks great Lisa! I love the colour combination - it works so well! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteIt turned out really beautiful! I think, I will try this soon :)
ReplyDeleteThanks and I will love to see you tackle this too :)
DeleteI love the way this looks! Love how it's monochromatic :) Did you find that it got really thick though or took a really long time to dry? I haven't tried it yet
ReplyDeleteThanks! I didn't find it too thick but creating it took a while since I had to wait for the stripes to mostly dry before applying the next stripe. Other than that, with a top coat on top, it smoothed the whole manicure out :)
DeleteThis is beautiful, I would like to try this but am not yet brave enough!
ReplyDeleteThanks and don't be afraid! It wasn't too hard to do and I'm sure you'll do great on it too :)
DeleteI've never tried this technique either!! I'm afraid my lines wouldn't be straight enough... you did a great job with yours!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I actually was afraid of that too but its much easier than I thought. You should give it a try :)
Deletebeautiful...just perfect mix and match of blues :) Love it!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteIt's absolutely beautiful, I love the color combo!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I haven't tried a fishtail manicure yet. Seems like a lot of tape but I like the finished product.
ReplyDeleteThanks! You should give it a try, it wasn't too hard to do :)
DeleteThis is absolutely gorgeous! I think it would also look good matte! Love!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel! I should do a matte one then :)
DeleteI love that you used polishes from the same color groups for this. I definitely need to try out a fishtail mani someday.
ReplyDeleteThanks! You should give it a try too, I would love to see your take on it. I'll probably do another version but with a different mix of colors instead :)
DeleteI really love this! I've tried to do a mani like this a long while ago, but absolutely failed at it. I should try and do it again.
ReplyDeleteGive it another try! I'm sure you will do well at it. I took my time with it and it turned out amazing for my first try at it.
DeleteI love the different shades of blue. I still haven't tried this technique yet...
ReplyDeleteMe too! You should give it a try then. I'm sure you'll do well at them :)
DeleteI agree! The blues complement each other :) It's really beautiful :)
