Subtle Criss Cross Stamping

Thursday, May 1, 2014

I'm finally starting to get into stamping! I've always liked it but most of the time I prefer to do more free handed nail art designs over it. I'm trying to improve my stamping skills so hopefully by doing more with it, I can improve it. Let's see what I did for today's post.

Subtle Criss Cross Stamping Nail Art

I started with Essie Splash Of Grenadine on all the nails except for the ring. I stamped with BM-316 using Nicole by OPI Spring Break. For the ring, I have on Sephora by OPI Havana Dreams. Finished with Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Top Coat. While it was still wet, I quickly applied a purple square stud from Born Pretty Store on the ring nail. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off.

Here's a closer look at the stud wheel I used from Born Pretty Store. These are fun to wear but there totally not practical for everyday activities. This isn't available anymore on the site but there's other similar nail art studs HERE or you can check out the new nail art arrivals HERE.

I've been liking pairing colors that are subtle with each other along with stamping. Its not too noticeable of a nail art design unless you look at it closely which I like. What do you think?

  1. This is such a neat mani Lisa! I love stamping too but can't get the hang of picking up the image yet. Sometimes I get the whole image and sometimes I get bits and pieces or nothing at all. Looking forward to seeing more stamping from you!!

    1. Thanks Dani! Maybe its your stamper that's the problem or your waiting too long to stamp it on? I'm still a newbie in stamping too.

  3. I really love the tone on tone stamping! I really wish my bottle of Havana Dreams worked out... for some reason I needed 4 coats and it was still streaky... I'm still looking for a similar light blue that's bright... all the other ones I've looked at are more dusty :(

  5. Practice really is the key to stamping. :) So far, I have realized that a good stamper can really make a difference. I used to use rubber stampers and I couldn't properly get the image. When a friend gave me the double ended silicone stamper, everything changed. :D Lovely mani, by the way! :)

    1. Thanks Breena! I only own two stampers right now but they seem to be working well to me. I might look into a silicone one though since it works so well with you :)

  6. This is so delicate but the addition of the stud takes the mani to the next level! So lovely, Lisa!
