I've been apart of Influenster for a long time but I wasn't really active until recently. I was one of the lucky ones chosen to receive and test out the Garnier Frucits Color Shield Box though. This box comes with three products so let's see what they are.
What's in the Box
1. Garnier Fructis Color Shield Fortifying Shampoo | 384ml
2. Garnier Fructis Color Shield Fortifying Conditioner | 384ml
3. Garnier Fructis Color Shield Fortifying Shine & Care Spray | 150ml
My Hair Routine
My hair care routine is pretty simple. I usually just shampoo and condition and sometimes apply a hair essence at the end. I wash my hair every day so its exposed to heat daily when I blow dry it. My hair in general is fine and straight with very little volume to it. I'm very low maintenance with my hair so when I got the opportunity to try these products out, I was excited because I've been trying to make an effort to take care of my hair more.
I've only recently colored my hair to a dark black brown because I was bored with my black hair color and wanted a subtle change. Since my hair is so dark naturally, I decided to just lighten it a bit by coloring it a dark black brown. Its important to have my hair color last as long as possible because I don't want to have to fuss over it and color it again and again which can be damaging in the long run. The main threats to the upkeep of my hair color are exposure to the heat from styling tools and the sun.
First Impressions
These products claim to have an advanced anti-oxidant complex combined with UV filters to strengthen hair and to protect against the top three causes of color fade: heat from styling tools, water, and the sun. Your hair color is suppose to stay fresher, bolder and brighter for even longer, week after week using them.
When I first opened and smelled all of the products, I was really happy with them because they smell fruity which is one of the scents I love. The Garnier Fructis Color Shield Fortifying Shampoo and Conditioner were both nice. The shampoo lathered well and made my hair feel clean after rinsing it out. The conditioner coated my hair well and it felt pretty moisturizing. As for making my hair color stay more vibrant and lasting longer, I did see a difference. I've noticed that my hair color isn't fading as much and is appearing more glossy when I finish drying my hair.
My favorite product out of the box has to be the Garnier Fructis Color Shield Fortifying Shine & Care Spray. At first glance, I thought it was going to be pretty oily on the hair. When I sprayed it on, I was so surprised with how lightweight and non greasy it felt in my hair. It moisturized my hair, gave it a bit of shine, and made it smell really good. The scent wasn't too overpowering too. It was a pleasant light coconut fruity scent. Most leave in products I've tried have always felt heavy on my hair but this isn't. Its definitely a product I might look into repurchasing, I like it that much.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I was really happy testing all three hair products out. Garnier Frucits has always been one of my favorite hair product brands so its great to see and try out a new line of products from them. They do a pretty good job on making my hair color staying vibrant and lasting longer. These products are great even if my hair wasn't colored just because I love the smell on all of them. Anything that makes my hair feel clean, moisturized and glossy is something I would look into repurchasing in the future too.
So, I Lisa Ng give my "shield of approval" on these products. #ColorShield
*Products were received complementary for testing purposes from Influenster.*

Here's my fourth manicure for this month's theme of tea party for The Nail Challenge Collaborative. There's always some lace or crochet at a tea party so I tried creating those.
I used Sally Hansen Debut-tint on all the nails. I stamped with MoYou London Bridal Collection 06 using Milani White On The Spot. Finished with Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Top Coat.
The stamping wasn't perfect but I still like how these turned out. This was my first time trying out one of MoYou London stamping plates I've purchased and I'm so in love with it. What do you think?

Nailpolis reached 1,000,000 on Facebook recently so there celebrating by hosting a little contest. I've been a member of this site for a while and its a great place to share your nail art/swatches as well as get inspiration from other amazing nail artists. Here's my celebration nails!
I used Barielle Welcome Ohm on all the nails. For the pinky, I applied Julie G Light It Up on top. For the rest of the nails, I created various celebration designs like balloons, confetti, and bunting decorations using a combination of Gosh Hot Coral, Nicole by OPI Hit The Lights, American Apparel American Denim, a black striper polish, and a white striper polish from Born Pretty Store. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off. The tools I used to help create the designs include a toothpick and dotting tool. Finished with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat.
I was a bit upset that I smudged the pointer nail when I applied the top coat. Other than that, I'm happy with them especially the balloon nails I did here. What do you think?

Today's theme for Twinsie Tuesday is sideways french manicure. I did my first french manicure last week so I also haven't done a sideways french manicure before. Here's how it turned out.
I used Nicole by OPI Am I Making Myself Claire? on all the nails. Taking a black striper polish from Born Pretty Store, I carefully created a french tip curve on the side of the nails. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off. Finished with Sally Hansen Diamond Top Coat.
The thickness and curves on each nail isn't perfect but for my first try at them, I liked how they look. There modern but edgy at the same time. What do you think?

Here's my third manicure for this month's theme of tea party for The Nail Challenge Collaborative. This one is inspired by a vintage rose tea cup I saw when I was searching google for inspiration.
I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls on all the nails. I created the gold stripe with striping tape and Orly Rage. For the roses, I used Nicole by OPI A Like-Haley Story..., Nicole by OPI Selena, and China Glaze Shore Enuff with a toothpick. Finished with Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Top Coat.
This design was created on a whim but I liked how they turned out. What do you think?

This week's theme for Twinsie Tuesday is classic. I haven't done a french manicure so I decided to try my hand at it. Its such a classic everyday manicure so let's see how it looks on my nails.
First, I used french tip guides from Born Pretty Store and painted the section at the end on the tips of the nail with Salon Perfect Sugar Cube. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off. With a small clean up brush and nail polish remover, I carefully cleaned up the curves. For some sparkle, I applied Essie Pure Pearlfection on top. On the pointer nail, I added a bow stud from Born Pretty Store. Finished with Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Top Coat.
I liked how they turned out. I've always thought my nails would never look good with a classic french manicure but I really like how elegant and simple these are. What do you think?

Here's my Superbox Pomegranate unboxing! A Superbox is a box from Memebox that only contains full sized products inside. The price on it varies depending on each box. Total Value of the Box
The Superbox Pomegranate Box comes with four full sized products and two deluxe sized samples. Even though Memebox listed everything in this box as full sized, I feel like two of them are not and are more sample sized products to me. The total value of this box is $68.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I did like everything in the Superbox Pomegranate Box. What I didn't like was that not all the products came full sized. They did advertise that their Superboxes contains only full sized products and to then receive two products that are more sample sized to me is a little disappointing. The other full sized products in this box makes up for that but I just don't like being lied to. Other than that, I'm very happy with all of these pomegranate infused products though. What do you think of the Superbox Pomegranate Box? Have you tried Memebox yet?

Here's my second manicure for The Nail Challenge Collaborative. The theme this month is tea party. I was googling tea party for some inspiration and noticed that there's always some triangle banner decorations in most of the pictures I saw. I decided to try recreating them.
Starting with my pinky, I have on Sinful Colors Folly. On my ring, I used Spoiled by Wet n' Wild Plastic Flamingo with Rainbow Honey A Little Kindness on top. For my ring and middle, I have on Model City Strength. With a white striper from Born Pretty Store, I made some lines and created triangle decorations with a toothpick. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off. On my thumb, I have on Essence Break Through. Finished with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat.
Other than my white lines being a bit thick, I liked how these turned out. What do you think?

This is a review on some splatter studs from Born Pretty Store. There were some new nail art items that were released on the Born Pretty Store site and these were one of them. They instantly caught my eye just because I haven't seen studs with this kind of design before.
I used Zoya Bevin on all the nails. Taking Finger Paints Tough Art To Follow and then Sally Hansen Evening Fog, I used the brush on them to apply the color in random spots on the nails to create a camouflage print. I applied pink and black splatter studs from Born Pretty Store on the nails too. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off. Finished with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat.
Here's a closer look at the mixed splatter studs nail art wheel. This costs $4.38 but you can use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off. There are 300 studs and they come in six different colors in square and circle shapes. Like most studs I've received from Born Pretty Store, I like these a lot. There probably one of my favorites just because I haven't seen much nail studs that has such an interesting print/design to them. Each one is a little bit different from one another.
The design I did with them wasn't something I was 100% happy with though. I imagined it to be better but in the end, it didn't turn out exactly how I pictured it. What do you think?
*Born Pretty Store did send the mixed splatter studs nail art wheel for review purposes. My opinion is 100% honest. Post does contain affiliate links.*

The theme for today's Twinsie Tuesday is inspired by a book. This was inspired by cutepolish from her video tutorial, The Fault In Our Stars Nail Art. I was originally going to do a new design inspired by a book but I was busy with work that I didn't have enough time to plan it out in the end.
I used OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui on all the nails. I created the newsprint design with newspaper clippings and rubbing alcohol. For the white and black clouds, I used Salon Perfect Sugar Cube and American Apparel Hassid with a dotting tool. With a toothpick, I wrote the words using the opposing color. Finished with NYC Matte Me Crazy Mattifying Top Coat.
I haven't read the book but I really like the nail art for it so I decided to give this design a try. I liked how these turned out but I should have wrote the words a bit smaller because I did kind of run out of room on my nails at the end. What do you think?

Here's a review on a nail art item from Born Pretty Store. Its one of their newer stamping plates that has an image that covers the entire plate. I'm not too sure what the design is but to me, it has a lot of swirls and floral aspects to it.
I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls on all the nails. I stamped with the QA88 stamping plate from Born Pretty Store using Dearberry 21 and Dearberry 20. You can use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off. Finished with Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Top Coat.
Here's a closer look at the Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate QA88. This cost $2.99 but you can use coupon code YCL91 for 10'% off. I like that the image covers the entire plate because when you go to stamp it on, the nails will get entirely covered with the design. So, this plate is great for people who have larger and longer nails.
I like this stamping plate a lot. It was my first time trying out a full image plate and I liked the results I got out of it. Excuse some of my stamping here that looks faded, that was my fault. The images in reality stamped really clean and crisp. What do you think?

This is my entry into Nail Polish Canada's Summer Nail Art Challenge they have going on. The theme is anything summer related so I went with beach themed nails. I've seen others do them so I wanted to try my hand at it. If you like my design, please vote for me HERE.
I used Salon Perfect Sugar Cube as my base color. Using the color wipe technique from PiggieLuv, I applied American Apparel Coney Island, American Apparel Neon Coral, American Apparel Neon Orange, American Apparel Neon Yellow, American Apparel Neon Green, and Barielle A Bouquet For Ava in random swipes. Topped it Nina Ultra Pro Holographic Top Coat.
With a dotting tool, I created the starfishes with Jessica Tangerine Dreams and detailed it with some white dots inside. I also added some silver seashell studs from Born Pretty Store. You can use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off. Finished with Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Top Coat.
This has to be one of my favorite nail art designs that I have ever done on the blog. I wasn't expecting it to turn out so good but I'm so in love with it. What do you think?
