Its Monday Blues today so here's a blue manicure I'm sharing. This one is a simple glitter gradient with a striping tape accent nail. I have classes every day this semester so it's been a struggle for me to find the right time to take pictures when natural lighting is good. Doesn't help that most days are cloudy right now but I'm hoping to find the right time and day to dedicate to blogging so that I have at least some content to post regularly.
I used Barielle Swizzle Stix on all the nails. I used Beyond the Nail Shimmering Mermaid for the glitter gradient on all the nails except the ring. For the ring nail, I used striping tape to tape off a design and painted Julep Amber on top. While the polish was still wet, I peeled the tape off. Finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat.
The inspiration for the striping tape design was actually from my back pack. I quite like how they turned out too. What do you think?

This is pretty. I like the glitter gradient and the blue glitters you used look great over the base color. The striping accent is fabulous. I bought some striping tape a long time ago (over a year back) and still have not tried a tape mani. I always get intimated and back out and do something else. I will admire your tape mani instead.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cindi! You should give striping tape a try then. There so easy to use and you can get some really fun designs with them.
DeleteThis is such a pretty sky blue shade :)
ReplyDeleteIt's one of my favorite blues too!

DeleteDang Lisa, this looks incredible!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Jessica!
DeleteI love that shade of blue and it looks so pretty with the glitter gradient. I like that accent nail as well. I've only tried tape once and I did all ten nails which took me a whole afternoon to finish, so I've been a bit shy of tape since. An accent nail like this might be a good way to try again ... thanks for the lovely idea. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathryn! I know what you mean about that. Sometimes it can take a while but the end result always looks so good. If you don't have the time, doing an accent nail is the way to go.
DeleteThese are awesome! I love the tape accent and that glitter is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was really happy with the tape accent nail too.
