Twinsie Tuesday: Splatter

Tuesday, June 30, 2015

Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is splatter. I was excited for this since its been ages since I've done a real splatter manicure. However, I really hated cleaning up the mess it created. It took me ages to clean up and the splatter design I got wasn't the greatest.

Neon Orange and Blue Splatter Nail Art

I used Colores de Carol Blueberry Mango Sorbet on all the nails. I created the splatter by using a straw with American Apparel Neon Coral and American Apparel Neon Blue. Finished with a coat of Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

I thought these looked okay. I still need to practice more on creating splatter manicures better. As you can see, I found it hard to get a good splatter on the nails. What do you think?

Blue and Silver Paisley Print

Monday, June 29, 2015

Happy Monday Blues! Its been so hot and humid here where I live that sometimes I don't feel like doing anything at all since I feel so sluggish. I'm still job hunting for a new job but hopefully, I will get some call backs next week. I was able to find the time to do my nails over the weekend which I was happy about since I'm a bit behind.

Blue and Silver Paisley Print Stamping Nail Art

I used L'Oreal  Paris Avenues on all the nails except the ring. I stamped with M Polish Snowberry with BM-315. For the ring, I used China Glaze Liquid Crystal and applied a bow stud from Born Pretty Store. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off.  Finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

I love these nails so much. The stamping on some of the nails wasn't perfect but I don't really mind it. What do you think?

Red and Black Plaid Stamping

Friday, June 26, 2015

Here's another design I have yet to try until today. I've never created a real plaid manicure before. The only plaid type design I've tried was using striping tape to create one. This time, I went and used a plaid design from a stamping plate instead. Let's see how it looks.

Red and Black Plaid Stamping Nail Art

I used OPI Off With Her Red! on all the nails except the ring. I stamped with American Apparel Hassid with stamping plate BP-L006 from Born Pretty Store. For the ring, I used Sea Lore Arista and topped it off with a bow stud from Born Pretty Store. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off your order. Finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

I still need to practice with lining up the images as you can probably tell from the crooked placement. What do you think?

Twinsie Tuesday: Shimmer

Tuesday, June 23, 2015

Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is shimmer. I didn't really have an idea on what I wanted to do so I just went with some stamping. I have this stamping plate with a beautiful peacock design on it which I've been meaning to try out so I thought now was the time to do so.

Pink Peacock Stamping Nail Art

I used Julep Petra on all the nails except the ring. I stamped with M Polish Apple Blossom with stamping plate BP-04 from Born Pretty Store. For the ring, I used Different Dimension Mystic Falls topped with a bow stud from Born Pretty Store. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off your order. Finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

I quite like these surprisingly. I recently got a set of stamping polishes from M Polish so this was my first time using it and I really liked how it stamped. I'm excited to try out the other colors I recently purchased now. What do you think?

Blue and Black Houndstooth Stamping

Monday, June 22, 2015

Happy Monday Blues! For today's blue manicure, I've finally done a houndstooth manicure. Can you believe I've never done one even though I have a stamping plate for it and I've always said I'll give it a try. Well, now's the time for me to do one and see how it turned out.

Blue and Black Houndstooth Stamping Nail Art

I used Avon Galaxy on all the nails except the ring. I stamped with American Apparel Hassid with stamping plate BP-L006 from Born Pretty Store. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off your order. For the ring, I used ellagee Jewel Encrusted and applied a bow stud from Born Pretty Store on top. Finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

I like these a lot but I totally stamped it in two different directions here. I think my pointer nail looks the best. This is probably one of my favorite manicures I've done so far too. What do you think?

Hard Candy Piece of Papaya

Friday, June 19, 2015

This is my last polish swatch that I have in my blogging folder to share with you all today. I really need spend some time on the weekends to dedicate to swatching more polishes. I'm still looking around for a new job so hopefully, I can find something at least by the next two weeks or so.

Hard Candy Piece of Papaya is a warm pink coral packed with a ton of gold shimmer. Formula was on the thicker side but application was still good. Anything that's packed with gold shimmer is always a plus for me so I really like this color. It almost has a metallic finish to it. This is two coats.

Its so gorgeous on the nails! I'm a big fan of color that are packed with gold shimmer like this so I knew right away when I saw this polish that I would love it. What do you think of this polish?

Twinsie Tuesday: Blobbicure

Tuesday, June 16, 2015

Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is blobbicure. I really like this nail art technique and was excited to create one again. I decided to go with a green and yellow combination.

Green and Yellow Mini Blobbicure Nail Art

I used Orly Ancient Jade on all the nails. With the base polish still wet, I quickly dabbed blobs of Avon Starlight on top. For the pinky, I applied a bow stud from Born Pretty Store. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off. Finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

I really like how these two polishes look together here. I didn't apply a thick enough coat of base polish so the blobs didn't spread out as much as I wanted them to though. They look more like miniature blobs instead. What do you think?

Blue & Silver Holo Gradient with Feather Stamping

Monday, June 15, 2015

Happy Monday Blues! My last day at my part time job was on Saturday. It was bittersweet to leave since I've been there for two years but I felt really tired these last two weeks juggling both jobs. Hopefully, with my weekends now free I can dedicate some time to blogging again. I'm almost out of posts to share so I really need to get back into it.

Blue and Silver Holo Gradient with Feather Stamping Nail Art

I created my gradient using FNUG Psychedelic and FNUG Futuristica. I stamped with Chi Chi Wango Tango with stampng plate BP-L007 from Born Pretty Store. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off. For the ring, I used Chi Chi Baby We Can Parlez and topped it with a bow stud from Born Pretty Store. Finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

I wished the gradient was more noticeable but I still really like how these turned out. The feather stamping looks awesome and is one I can see myself using a lot in the future. What do you think?

Revlon Sparkling

Friday, June 12, 2015

Here's a polish swatch today! This is one of the polishes that I loved when I first got it but as time went on, it doesn't appeal to me as much. Does this happen to anyone else? Its still a pretty glitter but its not that exciting of a color or has much variety in the glitter pieces.

Revlon Sparkling has a mix of small light pink glitters and medium hexagon light pink glitters in a clear base. The formula and application on this polish was great. It applied really smoothly on the nails that I didn't have to use the dabbing method for this glitter. This is one coat over Essence Break Through with top coat.

Even though this glitter is one that I don't love as much, I'm still glad I have it. Its a nice alternative to have when I'm wanting a simple glitter topper compared to all those multiple colored glitters I own. What do you think of this polish?

Twinsie Tuesday: Oldest Untried

Tuesday, June 9, 2015

Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is oldest untried. To be honest, I have a ton of untried polishes still sitting in my collection. The polish I'm showing you today is one of many polishes I hauled back in 2014 I believe. Its not a color I would wear often but its fun to sport every once in a while.

Yellow Green Foil with Black Pattern Stamping Nail Art

I used OPI Simply Smash-ing! on all the nails. I stamped with American Apparel Hassid with stamping plate BP-L007 from Born Pretty Store. Use coupon code YCL91 to get 10% off your order. Finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

Isn't this color so different and unique?! I actually quite like it and it works well with the stamping as well. What do you think?

Blue and Orange Brushstroke Skittle

Monday, June 8, 2015

Happy Monday Blues! Since I've started working full time last week, its been a bit difficult finding the time to blog or do my nails. I'm still unsure whether I'm going to be staying at my job for long though. I'm just not feeling very happy or excited with the work I'm doing so I'm definitely going to start looking around for other possible employment opportunities.

Blue and Orange Brushstroke Skittle Nail Art

I started with Julep Hayden on my pinky and Essie Mesmerize topped with Revlon Heavenly on my ring and thumb. For the rest of the nails, I applied Pretty & Polished Mannequin Hands. Taking the first two colors, I made sure to wipe the brush off good and applied the colors horizontally and vertically to create the brushstroke design. Finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

These didn't turn out as good as the first one I did since the orange was a bit thick when I was using it. I do like how the orange and blue look together though. What do you think?

May 2015 Product Empties

Friday, June 5, 2015

Here's my product empties for May! Since it was a pretty busy month for me, I didn't really have much time to use a lot of products but I did manage to finish a few.

May 2015 Product Empties

1. Skin & Lab Red Serum
This is my last bottle of this serum and I'm sad. Probably one of my favorite serums I have used. It smells so good and made my skin feel good.

2. Rojukiss Pore Deep Cleansing Oil
This was my facial cleaning I use after I remove my makeup with a makeup cloth. Its felt nice and left my face moisturized after I used it. I do have a second bottle of this that I'm using right now.

3. St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion
A freshening light spray on lotion. I really like the scent on this too. Super easy to use and its a pretty light weight moisturizer for the warmer season.

4. Cetaphil Derma Control Oil Control Foam Wash
Unlike the previous Cetaphil product I talked about, this product was a bit better. It was very drying on my skin but I like using it when I felt like a pimple was coming.

5. Mise En Scene Perfect Repair
A moisturizing conditioner for the hair. I like it but its not something I need to have. It had a nice smell to it but sometimes I felt like my hair felt weighed down after using it.

That's all for my products empties! Let me know what you finished in May.

Twinsie Tuesday: Inspired by a Song

Tuesday, June 2, 2015

Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is to create a manicure inspired by a song. To be honest, I had no idea what to do for the theme since most of the songs I listen to aren't in English. I was obsessed with Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen a while back so I went with that. For the design, I did a pink and purple gradient and stamped a number design on top.

Pink and Purple Gradient with Number Stampng Nail Art

I created the gradient using China Glaze Petal To The Metal and Barielle Welcome Ohm on all the nails except the ring. I stamped with American Apparel Hassid with BM-311. For the ring nail, I used All That Glitters It's U Not Me and topped it off with a bow stud from Born Pretty Store. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off. Finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

I just love how everything came together. I didn't expect the gradient to turn out so good. I'm on a little bit of a gradient kick now. What do you think?

Blue Crelly and Black Floral Abstract Stamping

Monday, June 1, 2015

Happy Monday Blues! Since I'm going to be working full time now, time for blogging will only be limited to the weekend for me. I'll try to create as much content as I can so that I can continually posting regularly though. I'm glad I have at least this week covered. As you can tell, I've been into stamping particularly floral designs so here's another one today.

Blue Crelly and Black Floral Abstract Stamping Nail Art

I used Black Dahlia Lacquer Heavenly Blue on all the nails. I stamped with Born Pretty Stamping Polish in Black with stamping plate BP-L002. You can use coupon code YCL91 to get 10% off your order. Finished with ellagee Glass Top Coat.

The stamping turned out so good here. The top coat did smudge the design a bit though which made me sad to see. What do you think?
