Distressed Pastels with Gold Rose Decoration

Wednesday, August 26, 2015

I have a lot of free time right now since I'm currently in the process of finding a new job This means more time can be dedicated to my blog. I'm taking this time as a break before I get busy again. Today, I have a nice pastel manicure to share.

Distressed Pastels with Gold Rose Decoration Nail Art

I used OPI Pink Friday on all the nails. Making sure to wipe the brush off good, I applied China Glaze At Vase Value and China Glaze Shore Enuff to create the distressed look. Topped it with a coat of e.l.f. Fairy Dust. I applied a gold rose decoration from Lady Queen on the ring nail. Use coupon code EGLC15 for 15% off your order. Finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

Here's a closer look at the gold nail decorations. The nail art wheels comes with 10 different designs for $3.87. I like the mix of designs I received but the amount of each design you receive varies and you don't really get a lot of them. One thing I didn't like about them was that I had to bend them a bit to be able to have them lay flat against my nail. If you don't this, you can feel them sticking out on the sides of your nails. Other than that, there a easy way to jazz up your manicure and you can reuse them a couple of times too.

Lady Queen Gold Metal Decoration Nail Art Wheel Review

I was going for the a distressed look but it turned out more like a sponged design instead which I quite like. It goes really well with the gold rose decoration too. What do you think?

Blue Texture & Black Stamping with Gold Accent

Monday, August 24, 2015

Hi everyone! I'm sorry about not posting last week, my nails were in really bad shape that I wasn't able to do much on them. They have gotten better though so I'm back today with a new post for Monday Blues. I'm going to try to create a few more posts ahead of time so that I can keep up a daily schedule again and not disappear for a week without any posts to share.

Blue Texture and Black Stamping with Gold Accent Nail Art

I used Julie G Rock Candy on all the nails except the ring. I stamped with Born Pretty Stamping Polish in Black with stamping plate BP-21 from Born Pretty Store. For the ring nail, I used Sephora by OPI Worth My Weight and applied a bow stud from Born Pretty Store on top. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off. Finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat on my ring nail only.

I really should try more stamping on top of texture polishes since I like how they turn out. I've only done it a handful of times but its one nail art I quite enjoy. I have a new bow stud for my nail art designs too. What do you think?

Personal update: I've officially quit my full time job last week on Thursday. My three month probation was coming up and it was the right time to do it. June/July is the busiest time for the position I was in so the last week or so, I basically had nothing to do when I was at work. I'm still looking for a new office job but I'm finding it a bit difficult. Wish me luck.

Jessica Fanciful Flight

Thursday, August 13, 2015

Its time for a polish swatch today. Its been a while since my last one and this one has been sitting in my blogging folder for a long time now. One of my favorite finishes to wear on mu nails is a classic creme so I'm sharing a creme polish today.

Jessica Fanciful Flight is a bright raspberry pink creme. Formula is on the thicker side but the application on it was still easy. I actually could have gotten away with just applying one coat, it was that opaque. Its not the most unique color out there but its just such a darn good creme polish. This is two coats.

I've only own one Jessica polish so this is the second one I've tried. Like the first polish, this was another amazing one. They make some amazing cremes. What do you think of this polish?

Blog Update: I've been pretty stressed out recently so my nails have been in pretty bad shape. I won't be posting as much until they get a bit better so apologies if you don't see much from me this month. I'm planning to get some major stuff done this weekend if my nails heal up enough.

Pink and Orange Gradient Quatrefoil Nails

Tuesday, August 11, 2015

A while back, I purchased some nail vinyls from Vinyl It Up during a memorial day sale she had going on in her shop. I was always very interested in try out nail stencils after seeing them used in other blogs I follow. She had a nice variety in her shop so I decided to pick up a few. Today's manicures shows my first time using them and I can say, the result turned out pretty great.

Pink and Orange Gradient Quatrefoil Nail Art

I used Model City Orange You Just Peachy on all the nails except the ring nail. For the design, I used quatrefoil nail stencils from Vinyl It Up and to create the gradient, I used Wet n' Wild Candy-licious and Jessica Tangerine Dreamz with a makeup sponge. For the ring nail, I used Sephora by OPI Spark-tacular! Top Coat and applied a bow stud from Born Pretty Store on top. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off your order. Finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

I like these a lot. The nail stencils were very easy to use and I like the design I got out of it. I'm very excited to use the other nail stencils I purchased now. What do you think?

July 2015 Product Empties

Wednesday, August 5, 2015

Here are my product empties for July. This month has been crazy for me. My computer was down for two weeks so I had to postpone looking for a new job until I had it up and running again. For an update on my new job search: I got a call to come in for an interview at two companies. The first one had a very low hourly rate so I passed on it and for the second one, I didn't get a call back. I'm a bit sad that I haven't found anything yet.

Instead, I'm now thinking of going back to school to pursue something I have an interest in but was too scared to try out. My mom says if its something I enjoy, she will support me going back to school since I'm still young. I'm looking into a school for the program but I'm still thinking it over right now. I'll give everyone an update on whether I do decide to go forward with it or not in the next few weeks though. Let's get on with my July empties though.

July 2015 Product Empties

1. Skin & Lab Dr. Vita Clinic A Plus Lifting
Like the previous two moisturizers from this set, I liked this quite a bit. I use it as my daytime cream and it keeps my face moisturizer without feeling heavy especially during this hot weather.

2. Hologram Collection Active Gen Serum
Like the other hologram product, this was a nice serum but I didn't really notice much of a difference to my skin from using it. The packaging and design to the product is really nice though.

3. e.l.f. Translucent Matifying Powder
Great everyday face powder to set my makeup with. I like how lightweight and natural it looks on the face. Sometimes I just dust a little of this over my face to reduce the shine. Definitely something I would buy again since its so affordable.

4. Happy Bath Facial Yogurt Foam
This was an okay cleanser for me. Nothing special, just a normal cream cleanser. One thing I didn't like at first was the scent but the more I used it, the more I didn't mind it as much.

5. Derma:B Fresh Moisture Body Lotion
Very nice size to travel with. I mainly used this a lotion on my legs and it worked great. It kept them moisturized without feeling super sticky to the touch.

6. Daiso Charcoal Peel Off Facial Mask
This mask took me quite a while to use up. I mainly bought this because I've never tried a charcoal mask before and it was very affordable for a tube that lasts quite a while. Every time I used this, my face felt extra clean but super dry so I had to moisturize immediately afterwards.

That's all for my monthly July empties. I'm proud that I was able to finish quite a few things especially since the hot weather has been making me feel extremely lazy and sluggish. Let me know what you finished in July, I would love to know.

Glittery Blue and White Water Marble Stamping

Monday, August 3, 2015

I'm back with Monday Blues! Its been a long two weeks away from the blog. I had some computer issues so I wasn't able to post anything until I got it fixed. I'm so happy to be back though. Today's manicure is one of my favorites I've done so far too.

Glittery Blue and White Water Marble Stamping Nail Art

I used OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui and Windestine Jeweled Sand on all the nails. I stamped with Milani White On The Spot with stamping plate hehe 040 from Lady Queen. Use coupon code EGLC15 to get 15% off your order. Finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

Here's a closer look at stamping plate hehe 040. I really love all the different water marble designs to it that I wished it only had those on it. I had no trouble stamping with this plate and it transfers so well onto the nails. This only cost $2.99 but its currently on sale for $2.39 which is such a steal especially if you want to achieve the water marble look without all the mess.

Lady Queen - Stamping Plate hehe 040 Review

Don't these look amazing? I just love how beautifully these stamped onto the nails. I'm so happy to have this stamping plate since now I can achieve the water marble look without all the mess a real one creates. Thank you to Lady Queen for sending it to me to review. What do you think?
