Purple and Gold Star Like Pattern Stamping

Thursday, January 28, 2016

Hi everyone! I've been creating a lot of posts these past few days to keep up with my 2-3 posts a week schedule and I'm happy to report that I have posts planned out for the next two weeks so far. This gives me more time to write up the posts beforehand and be prepared a lot earlier.

First, I used Avon Aurora on all the nails except the ring. Then I stamped with M Polish Sweetclover with stamping plate BP-25 from Born Pretty Store. You can use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off your order. For the ring, I used Reverie Nail Lacquer Berry Sorbet for my accent nail. Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top Quick Dry Top Coat.

I'm in love with this manicure. The stamping turned out great thanks to the M Polish Sweetclover stamping polish that I used. What do you think?

Twinsie Tuesday: Grey and Gold

Tuesday, January 26, 2016

Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is grey and gold. I've never really paired these two colors together in a manicure so I was excited about the theme. I went with a shimmery blue grey base polish and stamped on a gold design on top.

I used OPI I Don't Give A Rotterdam! on all the nails. I stamped with M Polish Apricot Delight with stamping plate BP-08 from Born Pretty Store. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off your order. Finished with KBShimmer Clearly On Top Quick Dry Top Coat.

I really like how these look. The combination is pretty and I like how wearable it is too. Now that I'm looking at it, I think the base polish I used was more blue than grey. For some strange reason, it looked much more of a grey to me at the time when I chose it. What do you think?

Golden Purple with Blue Glitter Layering

Monday, January 25, 2016

Happy Monday Blues! For today's manicure, I went with something pretty simple. I don't always have a nail art design on my nails so here's an example of what is usually on my nails. I tend to just go for one to two colors on the nails applied just like this.

Golden Purple with Blue Glitter Layering Nail Art

First, I used Chi Chi Wango Tango and topped it off with Darling Diva Polish 13th Colony on the ring and middle nail. Then I applied OPI It's My Year on the rest of the remaining nails. Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top Quick Dry Top Coat.

Its always really fun for me to pair up colors that I normally wouldn't put together. This is one of them right here and I quite like how it looks too. What do you think?

Rose and Black Brick Inspired Stamping

Thursday, January 21, 2016

Hi everyone! So today's nail art manicure is a stamping design with an image I used that reminded me of a brick like pattern to it. I have a ton of stamping plates I have yet to use so I've been trying to use each stamping plate at least once in a manicure. I also find stamping to be much easier for me compared to freehanded designs too.

Rose and Black Brick Inspired Stamping Nail Art

I used OPI Senorita Rose-Alita on all the nails except the ring. I stamped with Born Pretty Stamping Polish in Black with stamping plate BM-H12. You can use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off your order from Born Pretty Store. For the ring nail, I used Revlon Parfumerie Apricot Nectar and also China Glaze Let The Beat Drop. Finished with KBShimmer Clearly On Top Quick Dry Top Coat.

I wasn't able to get the image completely straight on the nails but I still like how it looks. The accent nail in particular feels so summery to me. What do you think?

Twinsie Tuesday: Shattered Glass

Tuesday, January 19, 2016

Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is shattered glass. I didn't have any iridescent cellophane so instead I improvised. This is my interpretation of shattered glass using a shard glitter I have.

Shattered Glass Inspired Nail Art

I used Chi Chi Go Ahead Make My Day and topped it off with Nicole by OPI Heavenly Angel on all the nails. Finished with KBShimmer Clearly On Top Quick Dry Top Coat.

I really like how the shard glitters look here. I applied two coats of top coat to help smooth out the surface but it was still a little bumpy. What do you think?

Isolated Blue Dotting Nail Art

Monday, January 18, 2016

Happy Monday Blues! So I've been wanting to get back into creating more freehanded designs using my dotting tool. Dotting used to be one of my favorite ways to create nail art designs so I'm going to try to come up with patterns/looks using that. Here's the first one I'm showing today.

Isolated Blue Dotting Nail Art

I used OPI Stranger Tides on the ring and middle nail. After the base polish dried, I applied striping tape on the middle section of the nail and started dotting on a combination of Nubar Absolute, Barielle A Bouquet For Ava, and Nicole by OPI You're S-teal The One with a dotting tool. Before that dried, I peeled the striping tape off. For the rest of the nails, I applied Nubar Absolute and added two dots using Barielle Swizzle Stix and Nicole by OPI You're S-teal The One. Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top Quick Dry Top Coat.

I thought these nails turned out okay. The three blues I choose to use in the design looked very similar so they didn't really stand out much when I dotted them on the nails within the striping tape. What do you think?

Twinsie Tuesday: Words

Tuesday, January 12, 2016

Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is words. I didn't want to freehand any words onto my nails so instead I opted to use one of my stamping plates for the theme. It was raining the day I took these pictures so it doesn't have the best lighting or focus to them.

Red and Black Words Stamping with Pink Glitter Accent Nail Art

I used OPI DS Reflection on all the nails except the ring nail. I stamped with Born Pretty Stamping Polish in Black with stamping plate QA67 from Born Pretty Store. You can use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off your order. For the ring, I used Different Dimension Anteros as my glitter accent nail. Finished with KBShimmer Clearly On Top Quick Dry Top Coat.

I think these look great even though I did smudge the stamping a bit. I didn't really have much stamping plates with words on it but I was happy that I still had a few word images that I haven't used yet to choose from. What do you think?

White Shatter and Dark Silver Brushstroke Nail Art

Monday, January 11, 2016

Happy Monday Blues! For today's blue manicure, I went with a nail art technique I like to do when I don't have lot of time to spend on my nails which is the dry brush technique. Its super simple and it can create a lot of looks depending on the colors that I choose to use in it. Since its still very cold where I live, I went with some colors that felt very wintery to me.

White Shatter and Dark Silver Brushstroke Nail Art

First, I used Dearberry 32 on all the nails. Next, I applied OPI Lucerne-tainly Look marvelous and OPI White Shatter using the dry brush technique horizontally and vertically across all the nails. Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top Quick Dry Top Coat.

I think I achieved that icy winter feel to these brushstroke nails with the colors I used. I've used this technique a handful of times and each one always turns out great. What do you think?

December 2015 Product Empties

Thursday, January 7, 2016

Here's my December 2015 product empties! I didn't really finish products per say for this month but I did throw away a few items that I don't really use or like all that much as well as some products that are expired. So let's see what I used up and threw away.

December 2015 Product Empties

1. Kskin Bulgarian Rose Moisture & Nutrition Facial Cream
This cream had a light rose scent and was very moisturizing on my face. I had to make sure not too use to make or else my skin would look really oily. It had a lot of product in the tub so it lasted me quite a long time. Overall, I was pretty happy with the facial cream.

2. RE:CIPE Vita Capsule Essence
This was my night time essence and it was a nice product. I do have to shake it up for the product to mix together before using but it helped kept my skin hydrated. Since its an oil based essence, you do have to be careful with how much you use since it can make your skin look oily.

3. Pure Smile Choosy Lip Scrub in Chamomile Milk
I've only used this lip scrub a handful of times and I don't really like it at all. It has a thick balm like texture with very little scrubbing action to it. Whenever I use it, my lips do feel moisturized but I don't feel like its scrubbed any dead skin off my lips. The smell on it isn't great too so I'm just going to throw it away since I don't see myself reaching for it often.

4. Grinif Multi Natural Shea Butter Balm
Like the lip scrub, I only used this balm a few times. I mainly used it for dry areas on my skin like my elbows. Its moisturizing but I didn't really feel like its was super amazing. I still have a lot of product left but its past its expiration date so I'm just going to throw it away.

5. Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark-Circle Roller
I've had this concealer for ages in my makeup collection. It has a nice thin consistency and it works well for areas like the under eye. Its starting to kind of leak where the roller ball applicator is and plus I've had it for so long already that I think its time to throw it away.

6. Onyx Professional 100% Pure Acetone Remover
I emptied another bottle of my nail polish remover which is 100% acetone. I've been using this particular brand for a while now and I like it because it removes my nail polish really fast. Acetone does dry out my skin and nails but I make to moisturize really well afterwards.

7. Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast Drying & Super Shiny Clear Top Coat
This is one of my favorite fast drying top coats that I've used so far. It dried fast and gives my nails a nice glossy finish. I particularly love using it after creating a nail art design since I don't fear it smudging my design underneath.

8. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat
If your looking for a nice affordable drugstore top coat, I would recommend this one. It dried pretty fast and it gives a nice glossy finish on the nails. I do notice that around halfway down the bottle, it does start leaving bubbles when I use it.

I'm happy to get rid of the items that are expired or I've owned for a long time. It helps me to make space for future new products. What have you finished in the month of December?

Twinsie Tuesday: Dotticure

Tuesday, January 5, 2016

Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is dotticure which I'm excited about since I love creating a manicure with dots. I decided to recreate this Colorful Dotticure from Paulina's Passions. The design is simple but I love how you can create such fun patterns using just dots like she did. I went with a different color scheme so let's see how mine turned out.

Colorful Dotticure Nail Art Inspired by Paulina's Passions

I used Barielle Do Unto Others on all the nails. Staring from inside out with the dot pattern, I used a combination of Nabi Baby Pink, Barielle Welcome Ohm, Sinful Colors Dancing Nails, and Nabi Angel Blue with a dotting tool. Finished with KBShimmer Clearly On Top Quick Dry Top Coat.

I'm super happy with how this dotticure turned out. The pattern I created using just dots is so fun and the color combinations you can come up with are endless. What do you think?

Dark Blue Texture with Gold Circular Stamping

Monday, January 4, 2016

Happy 2016 everyone! For this new year, I do have a few things I would like to do accomplish for the blog and in my personal life. For the blog, I want to maintain a schedule of posting at least two to three times a week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday for the whole year. So to kick the new year off, I have my first Monday Blues post for 2016 today.

Dark Blue Texture with Gold Circular Stamping Nail Art

I used Love & Beauty Blue Jewel on all the nails. I stamped with M Polish Apricot Delight with stamping plate BP-22 from Born Pretty Store. Use coupon code YCL91 for 10% off your order. I didn't apply any top coat to keep that textured finish to the nails.

I like how these nails turned out. In real life, the gold stamping really pops against the dark blue texture. I've been loving stamping over texture polishes recently too. What do you think?
